The Nera family has always been attentive to the business dynamics of the local area.
In 1994, it acquired the historic "F.lli Polatti Produttori" winery, undertaking the restoration and replanting of the vineyards situated in the Valtellina Superiore DOCG Sassella production area.
Production has always stood out, specifically in the case of red wines, for traditional ageing using large oak barrels (from 3,500 litres upwards).
Nebbiolo is a grape variety that needs time to express its best characteristics, and Nera has always been a winery that has allowed time to "do its work", mindful above all of the excellent quality of the grapes sourced both from its own vineyards and from the annual harvest of around 160 contracted growers, linked to the family by relationships of trust built up over many years.
