In the 1980s, Stefano Nera and his brother Simone founded the Azienda Agricola Caven, whose wines are characterised by a more modern ‘style’, achieved through the use of small oak casks (primarily French oak ‘tonneaux’).
This gave Stefano the opportunity to offer wine enthusiasts wines still made from the Nebbiolo ‘Chiavennasca’ grape variety, but with a slightly different philosophy to that of the wines produced by Nera.
At the ‘heart’ of Stefano’s philosophy, however, lies a respect for the region’s traditions, which is expressed through the careful use of oak in the cellar and, above all, through the use of high-quality raw materials.
