Our practical commitment to the land we love.
For Casa Vinicola Pietro Nera, sustainability means making practical choices every day: from the "green" management of the winery to the use of environmentally friendly materials, right through to a business structure founded on respect for people and nature. Discover the initiatives designed to protect the land we love and safeguard its future.
Sustainable Organisation
The Casa Vinicola Pietro Nera has been committed to sustainability for several years, and in 2024 obtained the Equalitas Standard – SOPD Standard “Sustainable Organisation Module – OS” certification for its four most important business processes: from the arrival of the grapes at the winery through to the bottling and sale of the finished product. This standard was developed in line with the 17 goals set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted in New York by the UN General Assembly on 25 September 2015. The goals focus on key issues for global development and aim to end poverty, combat inequality, tackle climate change and build peaceful societies that respect human rights.
Green choices
The Casa Vinicola Pietro Nera is a pioneering winery in its choice of the most environmentally friendly practices and materials. In particular, it adopts best practices in winemaking and bottling, such as:
Food hygiene and safety: A cleaning schedule designed to minimise waste whilst ensuring the quality and safety of the product.
Environmental aspects: Stems returned for agricultural use, lees and pomace sent to the distillery, continuous monitoring of consumption.
The winery produces mainly wines with a Designation of Origin that comply with their respective production regulations.
Environmental Responsibility
Great attention is also paid to packaging, as the winery uses different types of bottles and closures depending on the wines produced. The most commonly used bottle is the 360-gram "Expo" Bordeaux-style bottle, which accounts for over 50% of production.
However, respect and professionalism do not stop at the winery alone: for several years now, the company’s focus has been on training the staff working in the vineyard, through specific courses on pruning which the agricultural expert and oenologist personally conducts on a regular basis.
Transparency and Future
We want to clearly explain how Casa Vinicola Pietro Nera cares for the land on which it operates. The Sustainability Report sets out the figures and concrete actions taken every day to protect and preserve the environment and the local area.
