Pignola (Pignola Valtellinese) is a native grape variety of Valtellina.
It is characterised by high fertility and vigour, with consistent yields. Its grapes are generally characterised by good sugar content and flavour.
The clonal selection project developed in Valtellina by the Fojanini Foundation has resulted in "Pignola Valtellinese clone 18", which has good vigour, good and consistent productivity, as well as fertility.
