This grape variety originates from Bordeaux, in the region of the same name in south-western France (Aquitaine), and is found in the Médoc, Saint-Émilion and Pomerol areas.
It is undoubtedly the most renowned grape variety in the world for the production of high-quality, long-lived wines. It is characterised by its remarkable ability to adapt to a wide range of climatic conditions and winemaking techniques, whilst retaining its distinctive characteristics and perfectly expressing those of its terroir of origin.
